| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I run Seti for several reasons:
This is a very big universe and to think we are the only ones here is sad, lonely and conceited.
This is a good project, even with it's ups and downs. Once all the bugs are worked out I think Bonic will lead to some good science.
I have an excuse for my wife to leave my computer on at night. (much better than "I'm leaving it on to finish downloading all the porn I queued up")
My kids are the biggest reason. I'm in the Apollo generation and am kinda disappointed that I was born while men walked on the moon and there is no chance of ANYONE doing that today. If something can be found out there that gives us a reason to go, my son and daughter would have the opportunity to be a part of it.[/list]
