Personal background
My name is not Owen, and I do not live in Ottawa. But, this was what my profile was, when I logged in. Gee, I needed a better password, maybe!

My name is Owen, and I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It's not my favorite place to be but it's close enough to heaven. I'm a student in junior high school at Alta Vista, I've been going to that school for 10 years (since I was 3) but next year I'm moving up to Canterbury High School for the drama program. I really like acting, playing guitar and bass guitar, and messin' with computers and stuff. My favorite computer games would have to be Wolfenstein 3-D (the original bad influence game), Scorched Earth and Max Payne. I don't really like sports that much because I'm never really good at any of them. I like all different kinds of music. No pop. That's crap. I like Linkin Park (Hybrid Theory and Reanimation), Blink 182, Treble Charger, Soundgarden, the Exies, etc... One thing that I really hate is that stupid Anime stuff that my bro watches all the time, they should quit drawing and stick to making electronics and tiny cars. For the rest you can build it yourself...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There aren't mine either:

1. Yes, i definitely think that there is extraterrestrial life out there, to quote Jodie Foster, "If there wasn't, it would be a real waste of space!". I think the only way we will be able to find out for sure is if we master faster-than-light travel. Whenever I think of the possible dangers or benefits of extraterrestrial, I find it very hard because there are so many variables. For instance: we could wake up one morning to find Kang and Kodos of the Simpsons standing on our front lawn pointing ray guns at us asking to see our leader or on the other hand we could discover that there is a race of super-intelligent, super tasty chickens running around on Mars.

2. I think that sending a beacon would be a waste of time, but it might be a laugh thinking about it a few decades later like the last beacon we send with 8-traks and 5 1/2 floppies.

3. I run Seti at home because I believe in exploiting computers to their full potential and taking full advantage of them while we can. So, if I have a few bits of memory lying around I WILL find a program somewhere to use them. That and the fact that I love aliens, conspiracies mysteries, etc.. My favorite ones are the Philedelphia Experiment and Area 51.
