I am 38 yrs. old and live on the Texas Gulf Coast.
I am an active amatuer operator. I enjoy computer programming and also metal detecting.
I also enjoy astronomy related topics.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Astronomy has always been an interest of mine.
Is there life in outer space? If not for SETI, earthlings would never know for sure. So this is why i participate in SETI@home. Hey wouldnt it be awsome in our generation to verify signals from and communicate with alien beings from other worlds? This is a great project and also a great way to share the load of processing all the data recieved. Together we all share a dream.
Extraterrestrial life?
I believe in chance. There many galaxies in space.
We live on one planet in just one of them. The odds of earth being the only
planet in the universe with living beings is extremely narrow. So my answer to this question is: Knowing the overwhelming odds, the chance of extraterrestrial life existance is truly great.
