I live in Rapid City, SD in the Black Hills. I'm a computer technician for the government. I think the SETI program is pretty cool and I'm glad to be a part of it.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that it's totally arrogant to think that in the vastness of the universe we're "it". I'm not sure what kind of benefits could be received other than the changes we can affect right here on Earth. I think it would completely change our perspective to know that we are not alone.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
