Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
i have no doubt that E.T. exists. if there are more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on all the beaches of the world, then it would seem crazy to think of us as being alone. i think personally that humans will probably discover the signal just as they are doing now-searching for that narrow-band signal. i'm not really sure what would be positive or negative about such a discovery, but all i lnow is that it would impact everyone's life in some way if extraterrestrials were discovered. i run seti@home because i think this project is worthwhile and i'd like to be part of it ant way i can.
also, i think the government should start sponsoring seti again-- i mean they'll probably just waste the tax dollars on something else. why not spend it on something worthwhile that would have a drastic impact on humanity and change our whole cosmic paradigm.
