Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
We have come so far in so little of time.

Science is all about understanding the world and the universe we live in through a methodology that enables us to eventually ascertain the truth. The code of good science is the noblest cause ever taken on by our species.

Using the methods of good science a whole group of people can all come to the same truth at once. A debate not wars, discussions not arguments. The early years of science gave birth to astronomy, and biology, and eventually politics. We began to build larger and larger cities and successfully combat disease and famine. We've traveled the land, the seas, and the cold of space. We've built an empire of hominids all by coming together for a common goal or truth without killing off our species in the process. Using evolution's standards we are still not the top dog in the evolutionary chain of life on this planet. The dinosaurs were so successful that they lived for millions of years. Will we? We are but a small speck in our cosmic time line. We have come so far in so little of time. Short of Armageddon nothing can stop us if we work
together. To survive the next century without total annihilation of our species I recommend a good dose of science (minus the politics). Now if we can only keep the government from misusing science, or religion from berating it. We just might beat the dinosaurs as the longest species to ever dominate this beautiful planet. In time we WILL discover life elsewhere that is certain... -------DtP------- NullifidianDP@netscape.net
