Personal background
Hello! I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico and I currently work at Sandia Casino. I hate this job, it is not even close to being in my field of work. My field is Electronics and Computers (I build and service them). I have been looking for new work on and off for 3.5 years.

OK, now that I've bored you with that...here is a little more about myself. I enjoy photography. In fact I have my own little business (if you want to call it that). I do regular photography and digital photo editing; I even dable in video editing. I also like computers, as I mentioned above. I built my own, service them, upgrade, update and do practically anything with them. I went to DeVRY and learned about electronics, but now I'm rusty and I probably wouldn't even be able to decipher my electronic diagrams that I made myself, now.

Oh and I make simple web sites. If your interested, my website address is http://68.35.90.176/
This is the IP address, but I will register a domain eventually so that it's something like www.pinozone.com. BTW, this site is hosted directly off my laptop, which I converted into a server. Since my computer is idle most of the time I decided to let it do something useful (SETI@home!). I knew my other computer was much faster (1.4Ghz), but I didn't install SETI on it yet. WOW!! when I did it blasted through the analysis (I already completed 7 data sets only after a week). Since my computers are networked they both can send and receive the SETI data. I tried to setup a shoutcast, but it didn't work, I think I will try something else, on that line. If I buy a router I can hook up my other 2 computers and have a total of 4 computers doing SETI analysis! Unfortunately they are slower than my 1.4Ghz, but they will get the job done. I think they are all around 266Mhz.

Are you alseep yet? I hope you enjoyed this little tidbit of my life. Talk to y'all later.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think ET life exists, but who knows maybe THEY will find us first! If you've ever watched startrek the next generation or shows of the same type you can see the dangers and benefits of making contact with a civilization. They could contaminate us with technology which could very well destroy us. Of course they could enlighten us using their technology and "evolve" us into a better civilization.

I think humans should send out transmissions. It should be both technical; like our planets composition, how we look and what we are made of, etc. And then part of it should be more of how we really are. Like a time capsule from the past, it should have bits and pieces of how our everyday life goes and what tragedies and great accomplishments mankind has made through the ages.

I run SETI@home mainly to have my computer(s) do something when they are idle. I downloaded the SETI software because it was mentioned in the Lockergnome newsletter, and the author mentioned that he also wanted his computers to do something when they were idle. If it finds something out there, then that's just an added bonus.

I like the project, I hope that we or THEY find us eventually. Maybe we will have to move ahead enough to when space travel is more everyday and we can travel out into space and see for ourselves if there is life out there.
