I do think extraterrestrial life exists somewhere out there we need more resources world wide if we intend to find it though instead of building means to destroy ourselves we should be advancing technology and improving life for humankind if we do sometime in the future find a signal or even make contact someday im sure they would be people/beings im afraid of them seeing us as "hostile" we live in a world of war and poverty and corruption and untill we can be at peace and work as one to better mankind im doubtfull we would gain anything and we cant assume just because it is intelligent live or more advanced that they will be peaceful i am sure there are many many civiliations other than ours in the universe and the odds of them all being peacefull are not that great but I am hoping that we make contact with a far more advanced civilization who are peaceful and they can teach us new ways to live together in peace without war or poverty and the technology could help us advance in our ways of research and science
