Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
How can extraterrestrial life not exist in such a vast area of space???!

I am a devout Christian - I love Jesus, and I know my Bible!... Who are the 'Sons of God' that are depicted in the book of Genesis? Could they be the ETs we've been looking for? What were the 'Scroll-shaped objects in the sky' that the Prophet Isaiah witnessed?... Was he merely trying to draw a picture of what he saw using the objects of his day? Maybe if he was around today, he would have called them 'cigar-shaped objects'.

I'm unsure of when we'll get ET's reply, but I hope and pray that it is when I am still around.

The Benefits: Share emotions, feelings and technologies, as well as learning what counts in life.

Dangers: We could be picked up by a destructive race.

I think that we should send the Bible out as the message, since this is what it was designed for. It also contains every situation and circumstance in our human lives, from wars to times of peace, human desires, to sacrifices of love, even excplicit sexual experiences (Song of Solomon). We could transmit thing in binary code using a magnetic pulse beacon.

I run SETI@home because I have nothing to loose, and everything to gain. I want to be part of that 'bigger picture', having the knowledge that I have contributed to something meaningful in my lifetime. When I die, I will be forgotten, but my efforts may always be remembered in the form of contact with another species. We are but nothing in the light of the cosmos - each of us a unique speck of dust in the eye of the universe - unique, yes... special, yes... we have individual thoughts, feelings, tastes, loves, hates, yet we have become so proud as to dare think that we deserve the priviledge to exist, because our own ego as the human race has reached the point that we have become 'great'. How we need to be bought down a peg or two - and only another race more greater than us, yet more humble than us, will do that!

My love and kindness to all other fellow-humans,

[i]DazzyB.
