Personal background
I'm a strong believer in extraterrestrial life. I’m not as strong of a believer in intellegent[/i] life, but I do hope that the human race is lucky enough to encounter, and even meet face-to-face with peaceful and intelligent life.

I am a 14 year old from the Midwest in the United States and I’ve always felt it to be idiotic to believe that the human race is the only intelligent life in this great expanse we call the Universe.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. As I have already stated, I believe that extraterrestrial life exists. I don't know how we will discover it, but I am confident it will happen someday. We may be able to trade technology with alien species, but I think that our government will ask for weapons.

2. I think that it may be too dangerous to transmit any[/i] sort of radio waves into space until we are sure that no aggressive race will try to eliminate us.

3. I run SETI@HOME in hopes of being able to actually find signals that will tell us that alien life exists. I think that the program should let the user hear any transmissions that they may find.
