Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I discovered the project nearly after its beginning. Because of both its technological challenge, its goal, and the idea of leveraging unused resources, I decided to use it.

I think the project is ambitious but could lead to the most important discovery for the whole humanity. This is why it has to be performed, and it is good that it is performed by so many people working together.

I think that extraterrestrial intelligence likely exists, as terrestrial intelligence does. We will discover them in some manner, maybe by a few time, maybe by centuries, but one of the important aspect of the project is to show an intent of contact. However I'm not sure that we are ready to handle such a discovery.
