Profile: Denny Rogers

Personal background
I'm a retired resident of northwest Indiana. I've been so busy since I retired that I don't know how I ever found time to work. After retiring, I got my associates degree in micro-computers, and am beginning to design web pages. I'm also an avid tropical fish hobbyist with 40 aquariums and 1000 gallons of water in my basement. I've got 3 grandchildren, and hope to encourage them to get involved in big dreams by seeing me involved in projects such as the SETI project.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think it is possible and maybe probable that extraterrestrial life exists somewhere in the universe. Because of the distances and greatspan of time involved, we may never be able to verify this. Humanity has had such a short span of time when we've been capable of sending and receiving these types of signals that it would be very coincidental if contact was accomplished. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try, but rather that the effort should be made for the vision it provides.
