Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
(Q1. Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?)

Odds are we arent alone. Problem is humans arent (imho) intelligent nor wise enough to interact with alien cultures. We havent even learned to get along with each other yet. We're still a very immature species. The danger is if some alien culture came and found us now they would probably realise we're too messed up to be allowed to leave our biosphere and take measures to prevent this.

(Q2. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?)

If we have something to say then yes. Perhaps we could offer info on medical science and any major cures we have for really bad illnesses.

(Q3. Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?)

I run it in the vain hope that I might help find something greater than the mess that is humanity. Those that we find might help us find our way and place in the universe.
