Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've been doing SETI@home since 1999. I've got SETI@home running on Linux, Windows and Macintosh computers at home - I'd run it at work but I can't seem to figure out how through the firewall. Had to stop running it on my laptop because it made my lap too hot and the battery die too quickly.
I think if we discover extraterrestrial life, it will be the single most important thing that has ever happened in human history. That's why I do it.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
