Personal background
I'm a 24-year-old from North Eastern Ohio. I started SETI@Home about a year ago just because I thought it was a neat idea, and I had plenty of spare CPU cycles to donate! :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I definitely believe there is life out there. I don't know if SETI@Home will be the first to find it though. I feel that there is other intelligent life out there, but THEY will be the ones to initiate contact. For all we know, the current way we are looking for life could be completely obsolete to any space faring race out there. Maybe they are looking at our signals and getting a silent chuckle, while reminiscing about the "good old days" when they used to communicate that way.

However, it's certainly a great program and worthy of running. It's not like my computers had anything more pressing to do! I currently run it on about 8 machines, off and on.
