Personal background
My name is Chris and I'm a Public Servant, which in simple terms means I work for the Govnernment. I'm always interested in literature which relates to any facet of the Universe. I take any findings that the literature presents with a grain of salt because we as Humans think we are so smart but in fact know very little. Perhaps if we survive for a few millions years we will evolve the intelligence required to unlock even a miniscle fraction of the Universe's secrets.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I think ET life exists? Very hard question to answer. My limited knowledge of creation of life is that the nature of the universe that everything points to life wanting to be created. This means that the possiblity of life othe than that on Earth is probably. I also know that the prpbabilty that life actually developed on Earth was infintesimally low. I tate the attitude that if (for arguments sake) if there are 1 trillion of planets in the Universe, but the odds of life forming are ten times greater than the number of planets, then there may not actually be any life elsewhere in the Universe. That said, due to all things striving towards creating life, then if there is one instance of ET life (us) then life can exist in the Universe therefore there is at least a probability that there is ET life out there.
