Personal background
I'm an electronics engineer in Cebu, Philippines. I'm 33 years old, married and have 2 wonderful boys. I was intrigued by the idea behind SETI that's why I joined years ago. Due to some problems with our firewall, my connection was cut off for some time. It's now back, hopefully, for good.

I'm also a participant of the StarShine project and observe the heavens for anything unusual. After three consecutive years of disappointments, I was finally rewarded by the recent Leonid meteor shower late last year. I also observe solar and lunar eclipses, satellites and comets.

I like going to the beach, reading sci-fi, watching movies, playing video games and mountain biking with my family.

Hope to hear from you guys, especially THEM (the aliens)!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. ET should exist, it's mathematically impossible not to. But given the distances involved and mobility constraints, it's not likely we'll meet them face to face in the near future. But if given the choice, I'd rather have us discover them than the other way around. There's a huge scientific, not to mention financial, benefit of this discovery. That even happens when discoveries are within Earth. The real danger is what will happen to long-held values and beliefs? Should we treat them just like another country? What about non-native species (their bugs) infecting us?

2. I think we should transmit a beacon. Nothing boring, like some movies make them. What would they think of us? Maybe that's why they haven't contacted us.

3. To see how fast my computer is. Really, to take part and contribute in this worthy endeavor. I hate to see so much computing power wasted flying toasters just because I'm not in the office. If it's possible to run this on a machine without internet access, much more PC's could join. The datapackets could be e-mailed.
