it is basicly my entertament Computer on a home based lan I use it to play music
and store movies as as the movies play better on my dell (Prime) so 90 percent of the time it sets there running a screen saver it's also a learning tool for me
as it's the one that I mess with the most like with softFSB then when I feel good about it I try It on my dell (Sometimes)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1)simple answer: YES
not so simple answer: I have always thought in a bondless universe there has to be limtless possablites so the probability of other life is therefore limtless
but,I also think that from the stand point of a being that is advance enough as to contact us is aware of what we're like and are waiting untill we are ready for that they relize that there discovory would cause choas and fear for some but not all of us some of us are to closed minded for such a relization when they think the time is right they will contact us
2)yes and I think it should be our visions of love Poetry, Art and so forth
to show that we can LOVE think of all the little signals that we send out as weak as they are they consist of all this tragety and hate simply becuase that is what sells in the media they need to know the other side the things that aren't broadcast all that offten
3) to let my machine do something other than set there when it's not playing music
something more useful than a simple screen saver and to test the things I do to it
