Profile: Lupercus Moondragon

Personal background
I live in south east Queensland Australia,152.8842°E / 25.3203°N. Retired ex train driver, interstate truck driver, and vegetable farmer. I have had a lifelong interest in the stars, my driving occupations suited star gazing because I mainly worked at night I drove trains for ten years, and trucks for 12 years. I drove trains in the Mallee region of Northern Victoria it is called the sunset country and is an arid desert type landscape the views of the heavens out of the Locomotive windscreen were worth all the sleepless nights. Driving trucks from the east coast Sydney New South Wales, to Adelaide South Australia, and Brisbane Queensland, provided similar viewing opputinities although the headlights of oncoming vehicles became a bit of a distraction so did stering the truck at least I didn't have to steer the train. I drove past the Observatory at Parkes NSW for twelve years and desperately wanted to go and have a look but doubted that it would open to visitors in the wee hours of the morning that I usually drove past I also doubted that parking lot would cater for a kenworth with a 45 foot freezer van. My favourite locations for stargazing are the parkes Dubbo area and Broken hill. Sunrise in broken hill is absolutely amazing. Nowadays I watch the sun rise over fraser Island and wonder what the workers are doing today as I ready the boat for another fishing trip out on the Great Sandy Straits
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe something is out there, curiosity and perserverance will prevail, at least if nothing is found in my lifetime my children and grandchildren may benefit.I would hope any contact with other lifeforms would be beneficial, but then I suppose we won't know until it happens, I will keep Light Sabre charged just in case, By all means transmit a beacon the question is what to say. I run Seti Home because my computer is turned on 24/7 as I live in a tropical area and want to keep moisture out so it may as well be doing something constructive, and this project seems worthwhile, only suggestion I can think of at the moment is keep up the good work.
