I believe extraterrestrial life is possible but I cannot be certain one way or another. If you have ever seen the Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man" I believe that sums up the good and bad of the discovery of alien life. I do not think that humans in general are not ready for such contact and should not transmit a beacon to attract attention to ourselves.
