Profile: Bill Lockhart

Personal background
62 year old commercial insurance salesman living in Plantation, Fl., just west of Ft. Lauderdale.

Hobbies are gardening, woodturning, diving, reading (mostly science) and cosmology, the theory of the origins of the universe.

Ecstatically happily married since 1994 to the sweetest woman in the world, live with 3 cats, Clementine, Earthquake, and WoW!

I began reading Science Fiction (the real stuff, not today's Fantasy, which calls itself Science Fiction) when I was young and continued until today's genre took over. As a consequence, I've always felt the odds were overwhelming that there would be other intelligent life in the universe. I read "Intelligent Life in the Universe" by I. S. Shklovskii and Carl Sagan when it was first published in the late 60's.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. To help in the effort to detect intelligent life;

2. I certainly hope it succeeds sometime before I move on, I'd love to be assured there is other life in the universe;

3. Keep on plugging.
