| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I'm sure that ETI exists, I see examples of it every day and in every new life form that I meet. I think that we have discovered this and it has been said throughtout the ages only in vailed terms. I think that people are generaly afraid of what they don't understand that that life is an overwhelming thing. Meaning I believe that for the most part humanity already knows of ET and doesn't fail to acknowledge it but fears to accept it. Yet we naturaly transmit a beacon and have chance encounters daily. That we naturaly transmit what is the truth about ourselves brings additional fear because we cannot set standards for the transmissons regulation.
I run Seti at home because I try to live an honest life. That others are seeking to communicate with "it / others" can only assist in our understanding. Understanding is the first step towards relieving the pain of fear. And from that Communication can occur, and so to can our quest for Utopia be defined. This all amounts to relief of pain and struggle and produces harmony and peace amonst ourselves as a mutual contract. And certainly this world view, common thread instead of common threat would enhance the quality of life and meaning to how humanity does it's every day life.
