Personal background
Residence: Garland, Texas

I wear many hats in life. Professionally, I am employed as a research scientist in the biomedical field. However, I am trained generally as a biologist with an emphasis in history as well.

Science has been a passion and a part of my everyday life since I was a child. I loathe the term hobbies, but have many science related activities in which I engage. From rocketry to robotics to electronics, I dabble a little in many disciplines.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The search for Extra Terrestrial intelligence has always intrigued me on the project level as well as the philosophical level. Any belief that we are alone as a life form in this vast universe is pure folly. The sheer volume of data collected by the SETI project would be daunting for any organization, individually.

Distributed computing is an extremely worthwhile concept. Putting otherwise unused clock cycles to use is more efficient and responsible than simply consuming electrons to no end while the machine awaits its next task.

Being able to contribute to the global science community through my participation is both a pleasure and a privilege.
