Profile: Steve Morrow

Personal background
I am 54 professional male from the Boston area. Having grown up in the "space" age, I have never escaped that fascination with the unknown aspects and possibility of civilization beyond our solar system. I joined the Planetary Society shortly after it was formed and maintained my membership for several years.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I absolutely believe that life MUST exist elsewhere in the universe, but unless we actively seek to find it, and by doing so, also transmit several types of beacons to find it, we could search for a century without success. Constant transmission of several beacons should enhance our chance of success in contacting alien civilizations.

I run Seti@home because I believe every effort should be tried to detect extra-terrestrial signals and every true believer should get involved and maximize our chances of detection.
