Personal background |
I'm Mike, and I am a student at RPI in Troy, NY. I am majoring in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering, with a technical concetration in Networking. I also am working to get many of the IT certifications, just to further my knowledge. Most of my interests go to computers and DJ-ing. I love music, especially techno music. I enjoy modding computers and overclocking them to try and get the most out of them. My friends and I have a reviews and forums site at Underclockers.net. I hope to become a good engineer and a respected DJ. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I feel that there must be some kind of life out there. If not, its a huge place for just our civilization to evolve. Maybe we a destined to take over the entire universe? Maybe not. Either way, I feel that we should be looking for different discoveries. Finding life may not just be something interesting but it may pave way for other discoveries, such as cures to diseases. I don't think that we should transmit a beacon for other life forms to find. That would make it easy for them. I run SETI@home because I wan't to aid in the discovery of possible extraterrestrial life, and it also makes a good computer benchmarking program. :p |
