Profile: Trudy

Personal background
I am a fiber artist and theatrical costumer. I am retired nurse and write poetry, not good poetry, mostly funny Haiku. I am currently studying to be a Secular Carmelite. I enjoy comtemplating the meaning of the universe. I have a wide range of interests and am able to indulge in most of them.

I weave and have received several commissions for hangings in religious facilities. I find that inspiration is attained by deep comtemplation on things out there in the universe such as a super nova. I most enjoy downloading pictures of outerspace to use for meditation.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that the existance of life other than here is very real. We will discover it when we have all become fully human. I can't decided if we should let them know we are here by making our selves stand out, or just sit here and try to find them first! It is silly to think that they don't know we are here. After all, we are a very noisy planet! If any ET is looking for us, of course they would where we are by our lights and noise! Yikes, is that good or bad. The I don't knows have it.

I run SETI@home to satisfy myself that at least something is being done to see if we are or are not alone. I think it a wonderful project and my grandchildren love to see where I am in the standings and look at the readout when they are here. I am teaching another generation to be aware that all life hinges on all other life.
