Hello. I am currently getting my B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, USA. I am about to be 30 and a year ago I decided that it was possible to pursue my dreams. I hope to one day do rocket / spacecraft propulsion research. I will be going in to this area as I pursue my masters and my PhD.
NASA here I come (I hope).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI is perhaps one of the most fundamental research projects we as a species have ever done. There is no excuse to not strive to find out if we are truly alone in the universe. No politician can quote enough trumped up statistics to make be believe that people truly do not want to know what is out there; who is out there.
We should transmit a beacon into space. A "Hey. Hello. Here we are," message. We have to be willing to reach out if we are going to reach up.
I run SETI@Home because I want to help. I want to do something.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
