Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.ET life exists. Humans should search communication sources that ETs may use but with a logic of "what could we use in the future to communicate with each other through space, what signals and there advantages". Radio technology may be too primitive for them to use, especially for those ETs that would have spread their signals! In addition, already received radio signals (noise) may contain what we are looking for...therefore we need great imagination of what kind of processing should we use on those data.
Life outside earth will know the cope of survival that space demands in the long run and the odds are for benefits. But who can say?

2. A sound pattern containing repeated sound patterns would be appropriate (i.e. something like this: "yo yo yo hey hey hey hey el el"*7 - (something else)*15 etc other such sound patterns). {I hope you get the point...I don't mean really "yo yo"'s...Patterns!}
"Hello"'s in every language may look like noise, or give no specific info for us!!!

3. I believe that if they find out that we use radio technology to communicate and they want to come in contact, this is the medium they will use to reach us (until they will show us their own!).

The project should consider always ways that alien signals could be hidden in space noise (and any possible kind of medium). Whatever we discovered in space was there, but for us appeared only when we had found the way to see it.
