Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
ET life exists. In fact, they're our relatives. Which explains why a long long time ago, they moved to a galaxy far far away...

But they can't run and hide. Computer technology gets twice as good every year. Within the next 1,000 years, using the son of seti@home, we will find out where they live.

Then, we'll probably try to move into the nice hospitable galaxy they're in. Thats when they'll threaten to destroy us, to get us to leave.

Humans should transmit a beacon for others to find, telling us about ourselves, where we're from, how long we've been here, what we've been doing during that time, our culture, and anything else about ourselves. HTML formatting tags should be allowed, and the beacon should be limited to 2 million characters.

Personally, I'm running SETI@home cause its prettier than flying toasters.

The Project

There should be official speed benchmarks, as a public service to participants.

Further suggestions

client should be:

1) optimised

2) have auto caching, and

3) option for either a fast or pretty mode.

Eliminates need for 3rd party software or experimenting with different clients.
