| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I do think ET life exists. I really don't have an estimate on when it will be discovered, or when first contact will take place. The possibility exists that we have already been contacted and the governments of the world are witholding the information from the general public to prevent widespread fear and panic.
I think that SETI@home is the most practical and cost-effective way to search for extra terristrials. I don't think we should transmit a beacon as right now the risks may outweigh the benefits. I don't think we will make actual contact yet with ET, as I'm sure they see the chaos that is on our planet and want nothing to do with us until it is resolved, which could be a long time. |
