Personal background
I am from New Hampshire. I am 38 and worked in high tech. electronics for 22 years. I recently got out of electronics and went to school to become an LNA (a licensed nursing assistant) I will never get rich finacially at this occupation, but I must say financial isn't everything I am getting more than I thought I ever could working with the elderly which I currently do. I find it very rewarding. I come home from work now and say to myself "I made someones day better". I believe there are other planets out there that hold intelligent life, as a matter of fact more intelligent than ours. Why be afraid? I talk to a lot of people that won't even consider it due to the fact that we fear the unknown. I hope that in generations to come the human race will be more open and accepting of the unknown. I am however happy to see so many people interested in seeking ET activity. I also think that ignorance is bliss meaning the millions that think we are the only living planet in the universe is ignorant. Thanks for this avenue and to all who believe.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
As I said before I highly believe that ET exists. I hope if and when we do discover it we as a nation except it. Unfortunately I think as a human race we will feel threatened by it and do as only humans could.. I think if the armed forces of our nation get a hold of a couple of ET's we would use them as guinea pigs and cause more problems than we already have. Perhaps ET knows this and this is why they are more evolved than us and why they keep thier distances. I think we should transmit beacons for them to find, hopefully they would find the Seti group and know it would be safe or would we as a group use the freedom of speech and cause problems for them? As far as information to send they probably know us better than we do, I run Seti at home in hopes of making contact I think the project is a great idea... but the question is are we ready for it?
