Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I leave my computer on day in and day out mainly so that seti@home can run all the time. i do this because i want to help out the people at seti and aid in the search for anything that may be out there.
I most definately believe in extraterrestrial life and believe its just a matter of time before we see any. that may not even be soon considering we have gone thousands of years already without seeing any, but i do hope that it happens sometime in my lifetime.
As for the beacon idea, i am compltetely not sure. maybe wed be better off finding life than being found. for safety reasons. but it may help alot you wouldnt want to send out anything more than simple patterns for others to trace and follow.
