I think exists because the universe is so big that it`s impossibleto have only extraterrestrial life.
How to discover it? In my opinion,we don`t need to discover them.
If we found exterrestrial life,we could learn their technology and art to increase our technology, but if the exterrestrial life are not friendly,we might be destroy by them.
