I am a networking & security consultant in my 40s.
It took me about 20 years to become a naturalized U.S. citizen & all along I was considered an "alien"! My green card actually had the words "Resident Alien" printed across...
Since I consider myself fairly intelligent & I am no longer considered an alien, there MUST be some other intelligent aliens out there!!! :-o

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1. Probably ET life exists & we can only discover it by listening, observing & exploring space.
2. Yes we should transmit a beacon, just in case someone is listening. We should transmit information about our planet, the human race & non-political history of our world - mostly the natural history we have established thusfar.
3. Yes I run SETI@home - NOTE: anyone who comes to this website & cares enough to create a profile is pretty much by definition ALREADY someone who is interested in running SETI@home... You are preaching to the choir!
