My Name is Keith, I am 20 years old, from Dallas, TX. I have been involved in the seti@home project since 1999, I was 10 or 11 when I signed up! (Unfortunately I cannot find my old account!)
Anyway, I am a 3D artist and web designer by trade. The great thing is, I am able to use my equipment to aid in the search when I am not working with it.I have several hobbies including photography, motocross, and particle simulation (what a nerd!)

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1. I run Seti@Home in the hopes of finding proof of life out there. I know its there, I just want to help find it. Part of me wants to prove creationists wrong for some reason, probably because my parents are so religious. If we could put half the energy and time people poor into religion we could better the world so much faster!
I highly doubt we will be able to find an advanced civilization close enough by that we can communicate with, but its still good to find out that we are not the only advanced (and I use that term loosely) civilization around.
2. I think its a very interesting and ambitious project, it was the first major project to use distributive computing and its great to be a part of such a great program. The odds of us finding a signal that is of any use to us is very, very low, but it can't hurt to look, can it?
3. It would be neat to have some of the more "interesting" WU results converted to an audio format so we could hear what they sound like, if its at all possible. |
