Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Do you think extraterrestrial life exists?

Of Course. Life springs from every crack in the pavement on Earth. Even if Earth
is a one in a billion chance, there would be millions of similar planets in
the immense universe.

2. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?[/i]

Good question. It is inevitable that we (as Earth) will make contact.
I'm quite sure we aren't ready to interact (and behave) with other civilizations
today (2003). We (as a world) don't even get along with ourselves.
There's also the chance that they would behave worse than us.
Ultimately, we have been broadcasting for years.

3. Why do you run SETI@home?[/i]

Curiosity, in a nutshell.
It would be nice to see them before they see us. Maybe a little humility would
do this planet some good.
