Personal background
By the way, I am happily married mother of 2 kids.
I work as a network engineer. Incase you are still in the last century, woman are just as interested in sciece and computers as men are. So please don't assume that everyone here are guys. I have been called "dude" and "sir" twice by people wanting me to join their group.
In my spare time I like looking the planet Saturn through my cheep telescope my mother in law bought me for Christmas.
I mainly use my computer at home for entertainment; playing The Sims Online has become fun for me.
I have about 5 computers running seti@home. You would think my results count would be higher but the computers are by no means state of the art and I am not running the command line version. Here is a list of my computers:
Pentium III 800 mhz
Pentium II 233 mhz
Imac G3 500
Mac PowerPc 75 mhz (super slooooow)
This week I am supposed to be getting a new P4 2.1 GHZ system, which I am sure spit out results much faster.

Yawning yet? Pretty boring ain't I?

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am sure that extraterrestrial life exists. As to whether they are intellegent, it is hard to say. I don't think that we will ever contact another species, the universe it too vast for that possibility. Our only hope is for some signal from some ancient civilization light years away.
