Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
We have come into existance in a universe predicated by physical laws that seem unwelcoming to life. But, if it can happen, it will. If we can be, they can be as well. Extraterrestrial life exists, existed, or will exist.
Since travel throughout the universe is prohibitive, it seems likely that we will discover this life through the detection of radio waves.
As long as we hope that an intelligent civilization would transmit a beacon, I guess it follows that we ought to ourselves.
I run SETI@home to participate in an exciting project and to offer support to the team of scientists that believes in SETI.
