I am a chemist working in an environmental/Health & Safety laboratory in Cincinnati, OH.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) The universe is too big for there not to be some kind of life somewhere. I am not sure that we will ever have face to face contact with that life form. I think that the SETI project may be the only contact with that life. I really don't know how it will affect the human race.

2) Yes, we should let others know tha we are here.

3) It's interesting, a conversation starter (I am also runniing this on my computer at work) and I think it is important to share resiurces.
