Profile: George Myers

Personal background
Image was taken in the Bahamas,Island of Nassua. I reside in West Central Florida. Birthdate: 05/06/56,Zodiac: Taurus The bull: One of the things I enjoy the most is Astronomy. I have played music most of my life, starting with the guitar at age 9. Music is one of my passions and love in life. I was fortunate to have been born musically inclined and am generally self taught.
I am certified in Digital electronics, computer technology, biomedical electronic tech, cellular technology etc. Needless to say, I have never owned a store bought pc. They are all of my own device. I have believe we should all make a solid, concerted effort towards the conservaton of our home planet, wildlife, etc. I beg all of you here on this small planet to attempt to do your own part to preserve our ecology and wildlife. No part is too small, even recycling is of more help than most imagine. Even if one thinks their input too little to make a difference, the combined contributions of many can be of great effect. The "SETI" project is an excellent example of the might of many. Thanks,to anyone who took the time to read these words and perhaps begin to just recycle your aluminum and newspapers. I'd like my children and yours, to have the opportunity to see the beauty of the National forests, mountain ranges, oceans, etc,as I have. And I feel fortunate to have been able to do so.
sincerely,
George e. Myers
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe SETI to be a very worthwhile effort, and am most pleased to be able to participate in it. I can only shake my head in disbelief at the people who do not think that there is no intelligent life elsewhere, some literally laughing at you for discussing the prospect with any personal conviction. If you intellectually pursue the subject with most of these individuals, regarding what they know about astronomy, the star systems, and our universe, you will generally discover that for the most part, they haven't researched anything more involved than perhaps a 3 paragraph Time magazine article,if indeed, even that. As well as being as closed and narrow minded as you can imagine. A closed mind is like a closed book, theres nothing to be learned from it. In these past twenty years alone, I personally, have seen technology make advances unlike any before. And being in the field of digital electronics, computers etc., I have been involved in some projects that have impressed me with the technologies being integrated. You can only imagine the technologies that have already been developed,or are in the process of becoming a reality,at some unknown think tank that we know nothing of. Open your mind, anything and all things are possible. Remember, while most of our scientists are tinkering away, they are always applying our laws of physics as we know them. To think that our way, thrust engines etc, is the only way to do things, is almost ignorant in itself. The people who believe in SETI, and continue to search, are not in any respect dreamers. If anything, they are the realists, and know its only a matter of time before their dilligence, patience and dedication reveals what they all already know in their hearts. WE ARE NOT ALONE !!! My most respectful regards to each and every one of them. I myself, would give anything to be a part of that team .

Peace to all,
George
