Personal background
So, I am here to tell you about me. Well, there isn't much to say...actually, I'm lying. I think myself to be just another normal Portuguese 12-year-old kid from the suburbs. Boring, no? Anyhow, I was born in Lisbon and I'm, as I've mention earlier, 12. I like playing videogames, watching TV, doing funny stuff on Photoshop, surfing the Net, going to the movies, walking in the rain and listening to '80s music. My occupation? Gee...student. Isn't much of an occupation, though. Spending my day in front of the same old dull teachers everyday. Ah well, at least, my friends cheer me up. I'm an Atheist, by the way. Hope this doesn't affect any of my relations with anyone here.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I do believe extraterrestrial life exists, when will we, 'lowly' humans, find it? I'm not quite sure; perhaps, in a very near future, maybe 2100. Dangers? Benefits? Hmm...I think humans are bigger danger to others than the others are to us. Proof? Look at our world, what we have done to it. A beacon? Yes, I think that would be great, but I'm not quite sure about what we should send. Now, as you can see, my opinion isn't entirely developed yet and may be considered "rather idiotic" but, I'm just a kid, what were you expecting?

I first saw SETI@Home at an online forum and, once looked at it, I found it VERY interesting. Tried it and here I am. Why did I try it? Well, firstly, it's a fresh, innovative project and I'm always interested in things that make full use of my computer.
