Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well, for me, I do believe that Extra-Terrestial live exists somewhere in the vast nothing we call space. To think otherwards would lead me to believe that that person is conceited. I believe humans will discover et live someday, but by pure accident. I believe that humans should transmit a beacon, just to let others out there know where we are if for nothing more. I think in this transmission we should include our location in the solar system, our genetic makeup, how far we have advanced in science and math, and that we are a relatively peaceful race. I run SETI@home because I want to contribute to something I believe is very important, and also, for my own sake I want to be the one to find the transmission, if one does exist. I view the project as a step in the right direction on locating other life in the universe.
