Personal background
Hi, my name is Roger and I am an Okie....

I have always been a daydreamer, staring off into space. Now I work nights, and still stare off into space when I can get outside.
When indoors, I race around on a forklift (workdays) or a PS2 (days off).
Currently studying for a Marine Science degree...goes pretty slowly when you live in the dust bowl :D Just another decade or so...
Gotta do science somehow in the meantime, SETI@home is just the ticket ;)

The picture is offered as proof of my belief in God, the driver survived. :)
The car?....Well, hmmm. Which piece?>There are 2 now.
This will do until I get pictures of something else, maybe a fish tank?
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am convinced that we are not alone. Why would God, or whatever started our Universe, limit themselves to one, little planet?
Nature runs most effieciently with bio-diversity. Try to imagine a world with only one species of tree, or frog, or even mammal. Are there not dozens of different star types? Thousands of Galaxys?
I'm sorry, I don't feel that we are really that important on a cosmic scale. Everything on this earth, that we classify as living, exibits a certain amout of intelligence ranging from finding the best possible enviroment(bacteria) to the use of complex language (Humans, dolphins, whales, squid).
The problem that I foresee is understanding and interpreting the information we do recieve.
