Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Alien life exists, but the possibility that we'll discover is nearly 0.00...001% of a chance (.. replacing many, many 0) The biggest danges is that we would realy discover a alien race not so far from us and much like we - a possibility of a war is not to deny. (we all remember europeans and indians)
We should transmit a beacon, but that shouldn't be the main phase of rhe search. We should information aboput our location and whe should give them instructions how to communicate with us.
I run SETI@home just because i think it's great that you cam participate in something just by doing nothing ;-) I think it's interesting. It would be a good idea to create more interest at schools for this project (what do the school computers do all ower the world during weekends - nothing! Let them do something usefull instead.
