Profile: John A. Tolle

Personal background
Hello! Welcome to my amazingly astounding profile! OK, I'll stop yelling now. I live in a town in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois in the U.S.A. I'm a web designer who works a full time job along with running my own web design company Digitolle (I'll bet you can guess the name of my website.) I've got several girlfriends (just kidding, Teresa!) and a fish named Bob II and a cat named Harley. I love movies, specifically science fiction and fantasy, or any movie where stuff blows up (except for Ballistic, which was horrible.)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think SETI is excellent and their accomplishment is momentus to say the very least. I've got a machine running four processors and I've got a SETI command program running on each one, not to mention my work PC and any other computers I get my hands on. I really hope there is extra-terrestrial life out there and am willing to donate all of my unused CPU cycles to the cause. As long as life isn't as mundane as I fear, hopefully SETI will bring in some true Aliens someday! If we're lucky, it will be like a Close Encounters situation and not a Signs situation (sorry about all the movie references, but they get a complex idea across very quickly.) I realize that we have been transmitting a beacon for several decades now, and hopefully it's complex enough to be noticed by a superior space-faring race of beings. If any other less developed entities get the message, it's quite possible our race will no longer exist by the time they receive it (because of the pesky relatively-slow speed of light in comparison to space as we know it.) Hopefully we'll meet some benevolent aliens with faster-than-light technology or I'm afraid we'll be waiting until we either evolve into something else or the Apocolypse comes to pass (depending on your beliefs.)

Oh yeah, and SETI... you should make a multi-threaded version us nutty nerds can run on our multi-processor machines (so I don't have to run multiple SETIs at once)!
