| I spent over 23 years in regular AF and retired. AF was short of skills in my specialty and asked me to reactivate into the reserves. I'm now a "retiree-reservist", one of only about 100 in the AF. So I work as a contractor during the day, and pull reserve duty as a "consultant" and instructor at the USAF Test Pilot School. Unfortunately, I don't get to fly anymore, but still get to be part of the AF team. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I run SETI@home to scratch my "explorer" itch, and give the computers something "scientifically useful" to do other than email and web searching. I don't think we're alone in the universe and my scientific/engineering background biases me towards systematic scientific search rather than "wishing" and "chasing UFOs". (I think 99.5% of the UFO crowd are severly short of some screws - but I've also met some of the remaining 0.5% who aren't, so I'll keep my optimistic scientific skepticism. ;-)
