Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm not sure of extraterrestrial life exists. but feel that it;s important that we search for it. I am concerned that any civilization we encounter may be more advanced that us - and I hope their ethics are more advanced as well.
We are already transmitting becons via our radio emissions. Transmitting a focused beam at nearby galaxies would be helpful only if we had some reason to believe there was life there.
