Profile: Dennis Walker

Personal background
Born in Missouri (USA), moved to North Carolina in 1990.

Always interested in computers, electronics, science and science fiction.

Computer programming got my attention in the 1970's when first exposed in high school - via a time-share teletype terminal. A mainframe (COBOL) Programmer/Analyst for about 20 years.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Long time Planetary Society member, started running Seti@Home in 1999.
I believe there must be life beyond Earth. Although, inteligent life would seem to be much less common. Will admit the chance of finding a radio signal from another civilization is unlikely in the short term (several years, decades, maybe even centuries). However, not to be looking for a signal would indicate a lack of curiosity and hope.
