Profile: Michael Swartz

Personal background
My name is Michael, I'm 24, run the Seti screensaver on an AMD 900 processor, which at times is idling around. I've been a trekkie most of my life, and when I heard about this project I felt it might be worth the minimal investment in time and effort.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've always been a trekkie, and the idea that life is actually out there is simply mind-boggling. So I downloaded the SETI program and installed it on a number of pc's at the university I studied at in Leiden. Also at home my brother and I use seti a lot of the time, because the pc's are always turned on but not used constantly. Why not make good use of all the processing power modern computers offer? The Internet can be very useful!

We should definately transmit with some kind of beacon, just because all the movies make aliens bad doesn't mean that they really will be, just like Will Smith said, they didn't travel x billions of miles just to pick a fight.
