Personal background
Hi All, I am an amateur astronomer who also does a bit of computing. I get paid for looking out of the window all day by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. When I am not doing that I read Sci Fi.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I feel it is a good thing to run because it has more parcitipating countries than any war has, and it does more good for the development of computing, knowledge and mankind than any war has ever done.
I do not expect that we have the reception to find SETI yet, but the effort is needed to enable the eventual development of narrow band radio astronomy. SETI has in a way already discovered PULSARS, long before seti@home.
